Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Cheese & Toppings
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup mini pepperoni or chopped regular pepperoni
- 1 ball burrata cheese (about 4 ounces)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Garnish & Serving
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional)
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Toasted baguette slices, crackers, or breadsticks for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready when you assemble the dip.
- Prepare Sauce Base: In a small baking dish or cast iron skillet, spread the marinara or pizza sauce evenly across the bottom. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the sauce for added flavor.
- Add Cheese and Pepperoni: Layer shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Scatter the mini pepperoni or chopped regular pepperoni on top of the cheese layer to distribute flavor throughout the dip.
- Add Burrata: Tear open the ball of burrata and dollop it either in the center or spread around the top of the dip for creamy richness.
- Drizzle Olive Oil and Add Optional Spices: Drizzle olive oil over the assembled dip and sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes if you want a hint of heat.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15–18 minutes until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the cheese has melted and turned golden in spots.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil or parsley for a fresh touch, and serve immediately with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or breadsticks for dipping.
Notes
- For an extra burst of flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or olives over the cheese before baking.
- To achieve a bubbly, browned top, broil the dip for the last 1–2 minutes of cooking but watch closely to prevent burning.
