Dough:
- 1 package (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Dough Preparation: In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add sugar, melted butter, salt, egg, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth. Add remaining flour gradually until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5-6 minutes. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Baking: Preheat oven. Roll out dough, spread softened butter, sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture, fold, cut into strips, twist, and bake for 12–15 minutes.
- Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm twists.

- Enhance flavor with a pinch of nutmeg in the filling.
