Cupcakes:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon lime zest
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup diced fresh strawberries
- ½ cup diced fresh mango
Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons strawberry puree
- 1 tablespoon mango puree
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1–2 teaspoons tequila (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the batter: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another. Combine both mixtures and fold in the fruit.
- Bake the cupcakes: Divide the batter into liners and bake for 18–20 minutes until done. Cool completely.
- Make the frosting: Cream the butter, add sugar, fruit purees, lime juice, and tequila. Beat until fluffy.
- Decorate: Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes and garnish as desired.
Notes
- Make the fruit purees by blending fresh or thawed fruit until smooth.
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and add a splash of lime soda or extra juice.
