Ingredients

Puff Pastry:

1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)

Cream Cheese Filling:

4 ounces cream cheese (softened), 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fruit Topping:

1/2 cup strawberry jam or preserves, 1/2 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)

Egg Wash:

1 egg (beaten), 1 tablespoon milk

Optional:

powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 6 equal rectangles. Score a smaller rectangle inside each piece.
  4. Add Fillings: Spread cream cheese mixture, strawberry jam, and strawberry slices on the pastry.
  5. Seal and Bake: Brush edges with egg wash, transfer to baking sheet, and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
