Bread:

  • 1 loaf brioche or challah bread (cut into 1-inch cubes)

Filling:

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (cut into small cubes)

Custard Mixture:

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Additional:

  • Powdered sugar and extra strawberries for serving

Instructions

  1. Grease the Baking Dish: Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer Ingredients: Place half of the bread cubes in the dish, followed by cream cheese and strawberries. Top with remaining bread cubes.
  3. Prepare Custard: Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, and cinnamon. Pour over the bread, pressing gently. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
