Description

A hearty and flavorful Steak Egg Cheese Bagel perfect for a protein-packed breakfast or brunch. This sandwich features tender cooked steak, fluffy scrambled eggs, melted cheese, and a toasted bagel, optionally enhanced with creamy mayo or garlic aioli for an extra layer of taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Bagel and Spread

  • 1 everything or plain bagel, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or garlic aioli (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Egg Mixture

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Steak and Cheese

  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced cooked steak (such as ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 slice American or cheddar cheese
  • Cooking spray or oil for pan

Instructions

  1. Prepare the eggs: In a small bowl, whisk together the 2 large eggs with 1 tablespoon of milk or cream, adding a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil. Pour in the egg mixture and scramble gently until just set. Remove the scrambled eggs from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Heat the steak and melt the cheese: In the same skillet, add the sliced cooked steak and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until warmed through. Reduce the heat to low, place a slice of American or cheddar cheese over the steak, and cover briefly to allow the cheese to melt.
  3. Toast the bagel: While the cheese melts, toast the bagel halves until golden brown. If desired, spread mayonnaise or garlic aioli on one or both bagel halves for added flavor.
  4. Assemble the sandwich: On one bagel half, layer the cheesy steak followed by the scrambled eggs. Top with the second bagel half to complete the sandwich.
  5. Serve warm: Serve the sandwich immediately while warm for the best taste and texture experience.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sauté sliced onions or bell peppers with the steak before adding cheese.
  • Use bagel thins for a lighter option.
  • Swap regular eggs with egg whites and use low-fat cheese to create a leaner, lower-calorie version.
