Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add butter and cheese: Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese.
- Combine wet ingredients: Pour in buttermilk and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Bake: Scoop dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown.
