- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (cold or room temp)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter: Use an electric mixer on medium-high speed for 5–7 minutes until light, fluffy, and pale.
- Gradually add sweetened condensed milk: Add one tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition to prevent curdling.
- Mix in vanilla extract and salt: Once smooth, add vanilla and salt. Beat for another 1–2 minutes until creamy.
- Use immediately or refrigerate: Frost cakes or cupcakes right away or store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Re-whip briefly before using if chilled.
Notes
- For a chocolate variation, add 1/4 cup sifted cocoa powder after the sweetened condensed milk.
- If using salted butter, omit the added salt.
