Description

Peanut Butter Cool Whip Candy is a delicious no-bake treat combining creamy peanut butter, fluffy Cool Whip, and powdered sugar, all coated in smooth melted chocolate. Perfect for a quick and easy dessert, these bite-sized candies are a delightful blend of sweet and creamy textures with a rich chocolate coating.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Chocolate Coating

  • 12 oz chocolate candy coating or chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)

Instructions

  1. Mix Peanut Butter and Cool Whip: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup creamy peanut butter and 8 oz thawed Cool Whip. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended, creating a creamy base for the candy.
  2. Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually add 2 cups powdered sugar to the mixture, stirring continuously until a thick, dough-like consistency forms that can be shaped easily.
  3. Form Candy Shapes: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the peanut butter mixture and roll them into balls or press into small squares. Place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Freeze the Candy: Place the baking sheet in the freezer and let the candy firm up for 30–45 minutes. This step ensures the candies hold their shape during the chocolate coating process.
  5. Melt Chocolate Coating: While the candies freeze, melt 12 oz chocolate candy coating or chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  6. Coat the Candies: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled candy piece into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is completely coated. Place the coated candies back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Chill to Set: Transfer the coated candies to the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate hardens, approximately 15–30 minutes.
  8. Store Properly: Once the chocolate is set, store the candies in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness and prevent melting.

Notes

  • You can drizzle with white chocolate or sprinkle with sea salt before the chocolate coating sets for a decorative and flavorful touch.
  • Using crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy will add a pleasant texture contrast in the candy.
