Scale
Fruit Base
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
Sweetener and Liquid
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
Garnishes
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Peach slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash Peaches: Thoroughly wash the peaches under running water to remove any dirt or residues ensuring clean fruit for the drink.
- Remove Pits: Slice the peaches in half and carefully remove the pits from each half.
- Slice Peaches: Cut the peach halves into smaller slices so they blend more easily and evenly.
- Blend Peaches: Place the peach slices into a blender. For a smoother puree, optionally add a tablespoon of water. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds to one minute until smooth.
- Strain Puree: Pour the peach puree through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher. Use a spatula to press through as much juice as possible, removing pulp and skin.
- Juice Lemons: Roll lemons on the countertop to release more juice, then squeeze to obtain about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
- Strain Lemon Juice: Pass the lemon juice through a fine mesh sieve to eliminate seeds and pulp for clarity.
- Prepare Lemonade Base: In a pitcher, combine the strained lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add Water: Add the cold water to the pitcher and stir thoroughly to mix with the lemon-sugar base.
- Combine Peach Puree with Lemonade: Pour the strained peach puree into the lemonade pitcher, scraping out any remaining puree to maximize flavor.
- Mix Drink: Gently stir the peach puree into the lemonade until fully incorporated and uniform in color.
- Adjust Flavor: Taste the mixture and add more sugar if you prefer it sweeter or add more water to dilute if it is too tart.
- Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and the drink to chill.
- Serve: Fill glasses about three-quarters full with ice cubes and pour the chilled peach lemonade over the ice.
- Garnish and Enjoy: Add fresh peach slices and mint leaves for garnish if desired, then serve immediately for a refreshing summer sip.
