Description
Delicious and easy No-Bake Peanut Butter Balls made with creamy peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, and dipped in smooth melted chocolate. These treats are perfect for quick snacks, parties, or dessert without the need for baking.
Ingredients
Scale
Peanut Butter Ball Mixture
- 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
Chocolate Coating
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
Instructions
- Mix peanut butter mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter, softened butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
- Add powdered sugar: Gradually mix in the powdered sugar, stirring continuously until the mixture reaches a thick, dough-like consistency that holds together well.
- Form balls: Roll tablespoon-sized portions of the peanut butter dough into balls using your hands. Place each ball onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Chill the balls: Refrigerate the peanut butter balls for about 30 minutes to allow them to firm up and hold their shape for dipping.
- Melt chocolate: Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Dip balls in chocolate: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Set chocolate coating: Chill the chocolate-covered peanut butter balls in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set and firm to the touch.
- Store: Transfer the finished peanut butter balls to an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh and delicious for up to one week.
Notes
- For firmer peanut butter balls, chill the mixture longer before rolling.
- Use coconut oil for a smoother and shinier chocolate coating.
- Make sure the chocolate is not too hot before dipping to avoid melting the peanut butter centers.
- These treats can be stored in the freezer for longer storage; thaw before serving.
- Use natural peanut butter for a healthier alternative, but the texture may differ.
