Description
Ninja Foodi Sweet Teriyaki Beef Tips is a flavorful and tender Asian-inspired main course made by pressure cooking beef tips in a homemade sweet and savory teriyaki sauce. The beef is first seared to lock in juices, then cooked under high pressure to achieve melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The sauce is thickened and served over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions for added texture and flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
Beef and Marinade
- 1½ pounds beef tips or stew meat
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Thickening Slurry
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Garnish
- Sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
Instructions
- Sear the Beef: Turn the Ninja Foodi to the “Sauté” function and heat olive oil. Add beef tips and sear for 2–3 minutes until browned on all sides. This step locks in the juices and develops a rich flavor. Once browned, turn off the sauté function.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil if using. This combination creates the sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce that complements the beef perfectly.
- Pressure Cook the Beef: Pour the prepared sauce over the seared beef in the Ninja Foodi. Close the lid and set the Ninja Foodi to “Pressure Cook” on high for 15 minutes to tenderize the beef and infuse it with the sauce flavors.
- Release Pressure: When cooking is complete, allow a 10-minute natural release to let the pressure decrease gently, then quick-release any remaining pressure to safely open the lid.
- Thicken the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Turn the Ninja Foodi back to “Sauté,” stir in the slurry, and cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens to a glossy consistency that will coat the beef beautifully.
- Serve and Garnish: Serve the sweet teriyaki beef tips hot over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for a burst of flavor and a decorative finish.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef in the teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes before cooking to deepen the taste.
- This dish reheats well, making it an excellent option for meal prep and leftovers.
