Ingredients
Scale
Pasta Mixture
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- ¼ cup sour cream
Chicken & Sauce
- 3 cups cooked chopped chicken
- 1 (15-oz) jar Alfredo sauce
Toppings
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC). Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking and set it aside.
- Cook Spaghetti: Prepare the spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well to remove excess water.
- Mix Cheeses and Pasta: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, cream cheese, cottage cheese, and sour cream. Stir until creamy and evenly mixed. Spread this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Add Chicken and Sauce: Evenly distribute the chopped cooked chicken over the pasta mixture layer in the dish. Pour the Alfredo sauce evenly across the top of the chicken and pasta mixture.
- Add Cheese Toppings: Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the casserole surface to create a cheesy crust.
- Bake: Place the baking dish uncovered in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
Notes
- For best results, use freshly cooked chicken or leftover rotisserie chicken.
- You can substitute spaghetti with fettuccine or any other pasta of your choice.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving for easier slicing.
- To make ahead, assemble the casserole and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
- For a lower fat version, try reduced-fat cheeses and light Alfredo sauce.
