Ingredients
Scale
Salmon Marinade:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
- Bake the Salmon: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it skin-side down on the prepared sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is just cooked through. Optionally, broil for the last 1–2 minutes to caramelize the top slightly.
- Serve: Serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
- This recipe pairs well with roasted vegetables, rice, or a simple green salad.
- For extra flavor, spoon some of the reduced marinade (boiled for 2–3 minutes) over the cooked salmon.
