This Lemon Chicken recipe is a delightful blend of tender chicken breasts in a tangy lemon sauce, perfect for a quick and flavorful dinner.
Ingredients
Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Coating:
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Others:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pound the chicken breasts: To an even thickness.
- Cook the chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side or until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper. Lightly dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture.
In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and add garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in chicken broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, and honey if using. Bring to a simmer and let the sauce reduce for about 5 minutes. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes. Garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
- Serve with rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
- You can substitute boneless chicken thighs for a juicier texture.
- Adjust lemon juice to taste for more or less tang.
