Description

A tangy and flavorful Lemon Caper Sauce that is perfect for topping fish, chicken, or vegetables. This versatile sauce is quick to make and adds a burst of Mediterranean-inspired taste to your dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Additional Ingredients:

  • ½ cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons capers, rinsed and drained
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Oil: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add Liquid and Simmer: Pour in wine or broth and simmer for 2–3 minutes, scraping any browned bits. Stir in lemon juice and capers.
  3. Season and Finish: Season with salt and pepper, simmer until slightly reduced. Remove from heat, stir in parsley, and serve warm over your choice of protein or vegetables.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, whisk in an extra tablespoon of butter off the heat.
  • If desired, for a creamier version, stir in 2 tablespoons of heavy cream after adding lemon juice.
