Description

This Lasagna Burger combines the hearty flavors of classic lasagna with a juicy grilled burger for a delicious handheld meal. Featuring seasoned ground beef patties topped with melted mozzarella, a creamy ricotta and Parmesan mixture, and warm marinara sauce, this recipe delivers a comforting Italian-American twist perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Ricotta Mixture:

  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of salt

For Assembly:

  • 4 burger buns (toasted)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (warmed)
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Burger Patties: In a bowl, mix ground beef with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.
  2. Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.
  3. Make the Ricotta Mixture: While the patties cook, combine ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Stir until well blended.
  4. Assemble the Burgers: Spread a spoonful of the ricotta mixture over the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a cooked burger patty on top, then add a generous spoonful of warm marinara sauce. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, top with the bun lid, and serve immediately.
