Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cream the butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add wet ingredients: Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the sour cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine dry and wet mixtures: Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in apples and nuts: Fold in the diced apples and nuts if using.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
