Crescent Braid:
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough

- ½ cup sweetened shredded coconut
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons coarse sugar for sprinkling
Coconut Glaze:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon coconut extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make pineapple filling: In a saucepan, combine crushed pineapple, sugar, and cornstarch. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla and let cool.
- Prepare cream cheese mixture: In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in shredded coconut.
- Assemble braid: Unroll crescent roll dough on the baking sheet, press seams together to form a rectangle. Spread cream cheese mixture down the center, top with pineapple filling. Cut slits along the sides, braid the dough, brush with butter, sprinkle coarse sugar.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Make coconut glaze: While baking, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and coconut extract into a glaze.
- Finish and serve: Drizzle glaze over the cooled braid, slice, and serve.
