Description

A hearty and delicious Ground Beef Grilled Cheese Sandwich featuring seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar or American cheese grilled between buttery slices of bread. Perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Sandwich

  • 4 slices sandwich bread (white, sourdough, or your favorite)
  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • Optional: ketchup, pickles, sautéed onions, or mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and set the beef aside.
  2. Prepare the Bread: Butter one side of each bread slice. Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat and place 2 slices bread butter-side down.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich: On each bread slice in the skillet, layer one slice of cheese, then a generous spoonful of the cooked ground beef, followed by another slice of cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  4. Grill the Sandwich: Cook the sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, pressing down slightly, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted completely.
  5. Serve: Slice the sandwiches and serve hot. Add optional ketchup, pickles, sautéed onions, or mustard inside if desired.

Notes

  • Make it a cheeseburger melt by adding thin tomato slices or a few jalapeños for extra flavor.
  • Use shredded cheese to achieve quicker melting and a gooier texture.
