Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, oil, egg, vinegar, vanilla extract, and green food coloring until well mixed.
- Combine wet and dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
- Fill cupcake liners: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and frost: Cool cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Frost with cream cheese frosting and decorate as desired.
