  • 1/4 cup tonic water (for frosting)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • blue or purple food coloring (optional)
  • edible glow-in-the-dark stars or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. Prepare the cupcakes: Mix the cake mix, eggs, oil, water, vanilla extract, and tonic water. Divide the batter and bake for 18–20 minutes.
