Description

This Garlic and Butter Flatbread recipe is a quick and easy way to make delicious flatbreads with a flavorful garlic butter topping.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Garlic Butter Topping:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • extra flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the Greek yogurt and stir until a shaggy dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter: While the dough rests, melt the butter in a small pan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
  3. Form and Cook the Flatbreads: Divide the rested dough into 6 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin oval or circle. Heat a nonstick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side, or until puffed and golden brown spots appear. Immediately brush the hot flatbread with the garlic butter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • These flatbreads are best fresh but can be reheated in a skillet.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes to the garlic butter for extra heat.
  • Great as a side for curries, dips, or wraps.
