Description
This Garlic and Butter Flatbread recipe is a quick and easy way to make delicious flatbreads with a flavorful garlic butter topping.
Ingredients
Scale
Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Garlic Butter Topping:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- extra flour for dusting
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the Greek yogurt and stir until a shaggy dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
- Make the Garlic Butter: While the dough rests, melt the butter in a small pan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
- Form and Cook the Flatbreads: Divide the rested dough into 6 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin oval or circle. Heat a nonstick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side, or until puffed and golden brown spots appear. Immediately brush the hot flatbread with the garlic butter. Serve warm.
Notes
- These flatbreads are best fresh but can be reheated in a skillet.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes to the garlic butter for extra heat.
- Great as a side for curries, dips, or wraps.
