Description

Deliciously savory French Dip Biscuits are stuffed with thinly sliced roast beef and melted cheese, baked to golden perfection, and served with a flavorful au jus dipping sauce. Perfect as a hearty appetizer or main course, these bite-sized sandwiches combine flaky biscuit dough with rich, juicy roast beef and melty cheese for an irresistible treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Biscuits

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • ¾ pound thinly sliced roast beef (deli-style)
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Au Jus Sauce

  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Dough: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate biscuit dough and flatten each piece into a 4-inch round using your hands or a rolling pin.
  2. Assemble Biscuits: On one half of each flattened round, layer several slices of thinly sliced roast beef and a spoonful of shredded cheese. Fold the dough over to enclose the filling, pressing the edges firmly to seal the biscuit completely.
  3. Season and Bake: Place the stuffed biscuits on the lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with garlic powder and dried parsley. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Prepare Au Jus: While biscuits bake, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 to 7 minutes to develop flavor. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve: Remove biscuits from oven and serve hot with warm au jus on the side for dipping. Enjoy your French Dip Biscuits as a tasty appetizer or filling main dish.

Notes

  • Use pre-cooked or deli roast beef for convenience and quick assembly.
  • For make-ahead preparation, assemble biscuits and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Serve with horseradish sauce or mustard on the side for added flavor.
