Description

These easy Lipton Onion Roasted Potatoes are a simple, flavorful side dish featuring golden, crispy cubed potatoes seasoned with Lipton Onion Soup Mix and garlic powder. Perfectly roasted in the oven, they make a delicious accompaniment to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 large russet potatoes, washed and cut into 1-inch cubes

Seasonings

  • 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix (1.3 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare it for roasting the potatoes evenly and to a crisp golden finish.
  2. Coat the potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the cubed potatoes with 2 tablespoons of olive oil until they are evenly coated, ensuring they crisp nicely during roasting.
  3. Add seasonings: Sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper over the oiled potatoes. Toss again thoroughly so the seasoning is distributed on all pieces.
  4. Arrange on baking sheet: Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil to prevent sticking and to aid in easy cleanup.
  5. Roast the potatoes: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 35-40 minutes. Turn the potatoes halfway through cooking to ensure even browning and crispiness on all sides. The potatoes should be golden brown and tender inside when done.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove the potatoes from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot as a delicious side dish.

Notes

  • You can use other types of potatoes but russet gives the best crispy texture.
  • For extra crispiness, spread potatoes out well so they are not overcrowded on the baking sheet.
  • The Lipton Onion Soup Mix adds a convenient boost of savory flavor; however, you can substitute with your own mix of onion powder, beef bouillon, and herbs.
  • Turning the potatoes halfway is key for even roasting.
  • Fresh parsley garnish is optional but adds a nice fresh touch and color.
