Description

These Easy Homemade Greek Yogurt Bagels are a healthier alternative to traditional bagels, made with just a few simple ingredients. They’re chewy, flavorful, and perfect for a satisfying breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-rising flour

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings such as sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, or poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dough: In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. Knead until smooth.
  3. Shape bagels: Divide the dough, roll into ropes, and shape into bagels. Place on baking sheet.
  4. Egg wash and bake: Brush with beaten egg, add desired toppings, and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  5. Cool and serve: Let the bagels cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For self-rising flour substitute: mix 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1½ teaspoons baking powder and ¼ teaspoon salt.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for later use.
