Description

These Easy Cheesy Chicken Crescent Rolls are a delicious and simple appetizer perfect for any occasion. Featuring a creamy mixture of shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, and spices wrapped in buttery crescent roll dough, they bake to golden perfection and make a crowd-pleasing snack or party treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Filling

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Dough & Topping

  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until creamy and well combined.
  3. Assemble Rolls: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. Spoon about a heaping tablespoon of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Roll each piece up from the wide end to the tip, tucking in the sides as needed to secure the filling.
  4. Arrange and Brush: Place each rolled piece seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter to promote browning and add flavor.
  5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are puffed up and golden brown on top.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm, optionally with dipping sauces such as ranch, honey mustard, or marinara.

Notes

  • You can substitute mozzarella or pepper jack cheese for cheddar to vary the flavor.
  • Rotisserie chicken works great and saves prep time.
  • Serve with ranch, honey mustard, or marinara sauce for dipping to enhance flavor.
