Ingredients
Scale
Pie Crust
- 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade if preferred)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sweetness)
Swirl Filling
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)
- 3 different pastel-colored food coloring (like pink, yellow, and blue)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pie Crust: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pre-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish or fit your homemade crust into the dish. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent air bubbles. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Make the Swirl Filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly until combined.
- Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping carefully to maintain lightness.
- Color the Filling: Divide the filling into three separate bowls. Add a few drops of pastel food coloring to each one–pink, yellow, and blue–stirring gently to maintain the streaked swirl effect.
- Assemble the Pie: Spoon the colored fillings alternately into the cooled crust in large dollops. Use a butter knife or toothpick to swirl the colors together gently, creating a marbled Easter effect.
- Chill the Pie: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours to allow the filling to set firmly. For best texture, chill overnight.
- Serve: Once set, slice and serve with extra whipped topping if desired. Garnish with pastel sprinkles or candy eggs to enhance the festive Easter presentation.
Notes
- For best results, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing to avoid lumps.
- If you prefer a sweeter crust, sprinkle the optional 1 tablespoon of sugar over the crust before baking.
- Use gel food coloring for more vibrant pastel colors without altering the texture.
- Overnight chilling will improve sliceability and firmness of the pie.
- This pie can be prepared a day ahead to save time when hosting.
