Description

This delightful Easter Swirl Pie combines a smooth, creamy, and colorful filling with a flaky baked pie crust, creating a festive dessert perfect for holiday celebrations. Featuring pastel-colored swirls of cream cheese and whipped cream filling, this no-bake filling pie is both visually appealing and deliciously light.

Ingredients

Scale

Pie Crust

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade if preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sweetness)

Swirl Filling

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)
  • 3 different pastel-colored food coloring (like pink, yellow, and blue)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the store-bought pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish or roll out your homemade crust and fit it into the dish. Use a fork to prick the bottom of the crust to prevent air bubbles. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  2. Make the Swirl Filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue beating until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until smooth. Then fold in the whipped topping for extra creaminess.
  4. Color the Filling: Divide the filling evenly into three bowls. Add a few drops of different pastel food coloring to each bowl (for example, pink, yellow, and blue). Stir gently to mix color while keeping streaks for a swirl effect.
  5. Assemble the Pie: Spoon the colored fillings into the cooled pie crust in large dollops, alternating colors. Use a butter knife or toothpick to gently swirl the colors together to create a marbled pattern.
  6. Chill the Pie: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the filling to set firmly.
  7. Serve: Slice the pie once set, and serve with extra whipped topping if desired. Garnish with pastel sprinkles or candy eggs for a festive Easter presentation.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing and smoother filling.
  • Optional sugar in the crust can enhance sweetness but can be omitted for those watching sugar intake.
  • For best swirl effect, avoid over-mixing colored fillings.
  • Overnight chilling improves the firmness and flavor melding of the pie.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the creamiest texture and best taste.
