Description

Indulge in the bold flavors of this unique Dr. Pepper Jalapeño Beef Jerky. Tender beef marinated in a sweet and spicy blend, perfect for a homemade snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Jerky:

  • 2 pounds beef top round or flank steak (sliced 1/81/4 inch thick against the grain)
  • 1 can (12 ounces) Dr. Pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 fresh jalapeños (sliced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Beef: Trim excess fat from the beef and slice into uniform strips.
  2. Marinate: Combine Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, jalapeño slices, and red pepper flakes. Add beef strips to marinade, coat well, and refrigerate.
  3. Dehydrate: Remove beef from marinade, pat dry, and arrange on trays. Dehydrate at 160°F for 4–6 hours.
  4. Store: Cool jerky completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Freezing beef before slicing makes it easier to cut.
  • Store jerky at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
