Vegetables
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups cauliflower florets
Seasoning & Garnish
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions
- Blanch the Vegetables: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add broccoli and cauliflower florets and cook for 3–4 minutes until just tender but still crisp. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath or rinse with cold water to stop cooking, then pat dry.
- Sauté Garlic and Red Pepper Flakes: In a large skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil or melt butter. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes if using, and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Cook Broccoli and Cauliflower: Add the blanched broccoli and cauliflower to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5–7 minutes until vegetables are lightly golden and heated through.
- Season and Garnish: Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the vegetables, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
- You can roast the vegetables at 425°F (220°C) for 20–25 minutes for added depth of flavor.
