  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Dough Preparation: Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit until foamy. Add flour, cornmeal, salt, and olive oil. Knead until elastic. Let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Filling: Cook onion in olive oil until soft. Add garlic, tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15–20 minutes.
