Description

This Crockpot Ravioli Lasagna is a delicious, easy-to-make slow cooker meal combining layers of cheese ravioli, savory meat sauce, and melted cheeses. Perfect for a comforting Italian-American main course with minimal prep and hands-off cooking time.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Layers

  • 1 (25 oz) bag frozen cheese ravioli (uncooked)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until the meat is browned and the onion is soft, about 6–8 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute to release its flavor. Drain any excess grease from the skillet. Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Prepare the Crockpot: Lightly spray the inside of a 6-quart crockpot with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Layer the Lasagna: Spread a thin layer of the prepared meat sauce on the bottom of the crockpot. Add a single layer of frozen cheese ravioli over the sauce. Spoon more meat sauce over the ravioli, then sprinkle a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Continue layering ravioli, sauce, and cheeses until all ingredients are used, finishing with a top layer of cheese.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, or on high heat for 2 to 3 hours, until the ravioli is tender and the dish is bubbly throughout.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve warm as a hearty, comforting main dish.

Notes

  • You can use ground beef, Italian sausage, or a combination of both for the meat sauce.
  • For added nutrition, layer in baby spinach between the ravioli layers.
  • This recipe can be fully assembled the night before and refrigerated, then cooked the next day for convenience.
