Ingredients

Scale

Bowtie Pasta:

  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz, drained)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bowtie Pasta: Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Ground Beef Mixture: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until softened. Add ground beef, cook until browned, then add garlic, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add Sauce Ingredients: Stir in tomato paste, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes. Reduce heat, add heavy cream, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth.
  4. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add cooked pasta to the sauce, toss to coat. Simmer for a few minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or Italian sausage.
  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduced-fat cheese.
