Description

Crab Crescent Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer featuring flaky crescent roll dough filled with a creamy crab mixture. Perfect for parties or casual gatherings, these savory bites combine the richness of cream cheese and crab with a hint of garlic and Old Bay seasoning for a flavorful treat that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Dough

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)

Crab Filling

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup cooked crab meat (lump or imitation), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning or paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Garnish

  • Chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped crab meat, mayonnaise, finely chopped green onion, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth.
  3. Assemble Crescent Bites: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Place a heaping teaspoon of the crab filling onto the wide end of each triangle. Roll up each triangle from the wide end to the point, tucking in the sides slightly to encase the filling fully. Place each roll on the prepared baking sheet with the seam side down.
  4. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 11 to 13 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed up.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the bites to cool slightly on the baking sheet. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Best served fresh for optimal flavor and texture.
  • Can be reheated in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5–7 minutes.
  • You can prepare the bites ahead of time by assembling them and refrigerating unbaked for up to 1 day before baking.
  • Substitute imitation crab with fresh lump crab for a more authentic seafood flavor.
