Ingredients
Scale
Dough and Coating
- 3 cans (7.5 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Syrup
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Optional Add-ins
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Other
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 12-cup bundt pan thoroughly with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Coat Biscuit Dough: In a large zip-top bag, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Cut each biscuit into quarters and add the pieces to the bag. Shake the bag well until every piece is coated evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Layer Nuts and Dough: If using nuts, sprinkle half of them into the bottom of the greased bundt pan. Then layer half of the coated biscuit dough pieces over the nuts. Sprinkle the remaining nuts on top of this layer, followed by the rest of the dough pieces to create layers.
- Prepare Syrup: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and packed brown sugar until smooth and combined. This creates the rich syrup that will soak into the bread as it bakes.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour the butter and brown sugar mixture evenly over the layered dough inside the bundt pan. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the monkey bread is golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the monkey bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Afterward, invert the bundt pan onto a serving plate. Serve warm by pulling apart the soft, sticky pieces to enjoy.
Notes
