Ingredients
Scale
Spice Mix
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ tsp chili powder
- 1½ tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Main Ingredients
- 2 lb chicken tenders
- ¼ cup butter, divided
- 2 cups heavy cream
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Combine salt, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Evenly sprinkle this spice blend over both sides of the chicken tenders to ensure they are well-seasoned.
- Cook the Chicken: In a large sauté pan, melt half of the butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken tenders and cook for about 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and has a nice golden exterior.
- Make the Cream Sauce: Pour the heavy cream and the remaining butter into the skillet with the cooked chicken. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens to a creamy consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. Serve the chicken and sauce hot over your choice of pasta or mashed potatoes.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, simmer a bit longer to reduce the cream further.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce, but it may be less rich.
- Adjust cayenne pepper to taste for more or less heat.
- This dish pairs well with fettucine, linguine, or mashed potatoes.
- Use fresh chicken tenders for best texture, or substitute with thin chicken breast strips.
