Description

This Cherry Garcia Fudge is a rich and creamy homemade fudge inspired by the classic Ben & Jerry’s flavor. Featuring a luscious blend of semi-sweet chocolate, dried cherries, maraschino cherries, and crunchy walnuts, it’s a perfect indulgent dessert or holiday treat that’s easy to prepare and sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Mixture

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup chopped dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, well drained and patted dry

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal of the fudge once set.
  2. Melt the chocolate: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture becomes smooth, then remove the pan from heat.
  3. Add flavor and mix-ins: Stir in the vanilla extract, chopped dried cherries, walnuts, and the well-drained maraschino cherries. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute all ingredients throughout the fudge base.
  4. Set the fudge: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly using a spatula. Place the dish in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 to 3 hours, or until the fudge is completely firm.
  5. Serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut the fudge into 36 small squares and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Thoroughly blot the maraschino cherries to remove excess moisture, which helps prevent the fudge from becoming too soft.
  • You can substitute almonds or pecans for the walnuts for a different nutty flavor.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness for up to one week.
