  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the cream layer:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream

For the blackberry topping:

  • 1 (3-ounce) package blackberry or black raspberry gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries, halved if large

Instructions

  1. For the crust: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar. Press into a baking dish and bake for 10 minutes. Cool.
  2. For the cream layer: Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread over the cooled crust. Chill.
  3. For the blackberry topping: Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, add cold water. Fold in blackberries. Pour over cream cheese layer. Chill until set.
  4. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, mix a tablespoon of blackberry jam into the cream layer.
  • You can use frozen blackberries; just thaw and drain them first.
