Mushroom Duxelles:
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 shallot (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms (finely chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
Assembly:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sear beef cubes: Season beef cubes with salt and pepper. Sear in a skillet, then brush with Dijon mustard.
- Prepare mushroom duxelles: Sauté shallot, garlic, mushrooms, and thyme until thickened. Let cool.
- Assemble: Roll out puff pastry, cut into squares, place mushroom mixture and beef cube, seal into bundles.
- Bake: Brush with egg wash and bake until golden brown.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and enjoy!
