  • Tomato Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onion until softened, then add garlic. Brown ground beef, drain excess fat. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, salt, and peppers. Simmer.
  3. Combine: Add cooked pasta to the sauce, stir in Parmesan. Cook briefly until heated through.
  4. Serve: Garnish with parsley if desired and serve hot.
