Description

This hearty and comforting Beef and Rotini in Garlic Parmesan Sauce recipe combines tender ground beef with al dente rotini pasta, all enveloped in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner, the savory flavors and creamy texture make this dish a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 12 oz rotini pasta

Beef and Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the rotini according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed, then stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Make the Sauce: Sprinkle the flour over the beef and stir to coat. Slowly pour in the milk and beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
  4. Add Cheese and Combine: Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add the cooked rotini to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes to heat through.
  5. Serve: Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra richness, stir in a splash of heavy cream or a handful of mozzarella cheese.
  • Add steamed broccoli or sautéed mushrooms for more veggies.
