Description

These Baked Honey Garlic Meatballs are a delicious and easy-to-make recipe combining juicy ground beef meatballs with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect as a party appetizer or a satisfying main dish, they’re baked to perfection and coated in a flavorful glaze that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Meatballs: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, milk, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix gently until just combined to avoid tough meatballs. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes until they are cooked through and nicely browned on the outside.
  3. Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and rice vinegar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water) and continue to simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove the saucepan from heat.
  4. Coat Meatballs in Sauce: Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over them and toss gently to coat evenly.
  5. Serve: Serve the meatballs hot. Optionally, garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for added flavor and presentation. These meatballs can be enjoyed as a tasty appetizer or served over rice for a fulfilling meal.

Notes

  • These meatballs can also be made with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter alternative.
  • Perfect as a party appetizer or served over rice for a complete meal.
  • You can double the sauce quantity if you prefer meatballs extra saucy.
