For the Chicken:
- 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, or breasts)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
For the Coating:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken pieces, toss to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
- Dredge the Chicken: Remove chicken from marinade, coat in flour mixture.
- Air Fry: Preheat air fryer, spray basket with oil, arrange chicken, air fry, flip halfway through cooking.
- Rest and Serve: Let chicken rest before serving.

- Avoid overcrowding the basket for crispiness.
- For extra crunch, double-dip in buttermilk and flour.
- Adjust cayenne pepper to taste.
- Skinless chicken can be used, but texture will be less crispy.
