Ingredients
Scale
Bagels
- 2 plain or everything bagels, halved
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Cooking spray
Garnish
- Chopped chives or green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare the Basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Bagels: If using, spread a thin layer of cream cheese on each bagel half for extra flavor and moisture.
- Create Wells in Bagels: Place the bagel halves, cut side up, into the air fryer basket. Gently press down the centers of each bagel half to create a well that will hold the egg.
- Add Eggs and Seasoning: Carefully crack one egg into the center well of each bagel half. Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the eggs to taste.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top of the eggs and bagels.
- Air Fry: Cook in the air fryer for 8–10 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and yolks reach your desired doneness.
- Serve and Garnish: Carefully remove the bagels from the air fryer. Garnish with chopped chives or green onions if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use pre-toasted or day-old bagels to help hold the egg better and prevent sogginess.
- Customize by adding crumbled bacon, sausage, or diced vegetables to the egg mixture for extra flavor.
- For firmer yolks, extend air frying time by 1–2 minutes.
